Have you ever caught yourself sitting at your desk at work wondering what you are doing there or spending another weekend wasting time? GO AWOL was set up to provide an easy way for people who have busy lives to escape for a little while, enjoy themselves and live a little bit more.

We know that few people are lucky (or talented) enough to be full time professional outdoor sports people who live the dream. Most people end up heading down the route of a full time job, chasing a career and becoming “sensible”. However, there are people out there who feel that life is about more than this. Their soul still craves the excitement and feeling of freedom that comes with getting outdoors and being involved in an extreme or active sport. Our idea was to make it easy for these people to find and try out new and exciting sports and activities.

We are based in Poole, Dorset which is a fantastic part of the country for the outdoors. The area has an amazing mixture of superb beaches, the second largest natural harbour in the world and rolling Purbeck hills. All of these make it easy to get out there and get involved in any one of a huge number of sports.

To help make the escape come alive for our customers we go out and find activity providers that are passionate about their sports and provide great experiences and lessons. We feature the best of these through our website, putting you in touch with our partners and making it easy for you to pick a new sport or experience to try out. Alternatively, if you’re already into your sport, you’ll find many of the partners we have on board offer great progression lessons to help move your expertise to the next level.
