Overview

What is this activity?

This two day BKSA kitesurfing course builds on the knowledge learnt on the one day course. This is all about

getting in the water, getting the board under your feet and getting up and moving. This is where the sport really starts to come into its own. The sensation of getting up and planing across Poole Harbour using nothing but the power of a kite is one that you'll have to feel to believe.

By the end of our two day kitesurfing course you will know all about:

  • Waterstart theory
  • Load and launch
  • Coming up and riding
  • Rules of the road
  • Edging and riding upwind

With a bit of luck and a little skill you'll be starting to rip it up by the end of the second day. Well maybe not rip it up, but hopefully moving. So where to from here? Well if you have managed to progress enough you can just get out there practicing on your own or you can check out our advanced courses to keep your progression moving forward and learnt some more skills from the experts.

Location

All of our landboarding and kite surfing courses are based around and in Poole Harbour, Dorset which is one of the best locations in the country to learn kiting. It's the second largest natural harbour in the world after Sydney Harbour so there's plenty of space to learn. It's also predominantly nice and shallow and the water warms up nicely through the summer months (there's less man eating sharks here than Sydney too which is another bonus!).
