What to find out whether or not kite surfing or kite boarding is for you? This introductory taster session introduces you to flying the powerful kites that are used in the sport and takes you through all the safety checks and handling systems.

What is this activity?
If you're new into kiting then this taster could well be for you. The course in flying introduces you to all the different types of kites you can fly and use for kiteboarding or kite surfing. It then goes on to show the set up, safety features and basic flying and handling of specific kiteboarding kites. The course includes learning about pre-flight checks, the wind window, the power zone and kite safety systems.
It's a half day course that is based on the land so you don't have to learn how to master the kite while you're also coping with getting wet. You'll need good shoes and sensible clothes which may to be honest get a bit muddy if you get dragged around the field a bit.
Get through this course and you can progress on to either further landboarding lessons or get involved with the fast growing sport of kitesurfing.

All of our landboarding and kite surfing courses are based around and in Poole Harbour, Dorset which is one of the best locations in the country to learn kiting. It's the second largest natural harbour in the world after Sydney Harbour so there's plenty of space to learn. It's also predominantly nice and shallow and the water warms up nicely through the summer months (there's less man eating sharks here than Sydney too which is another bonus!).
